The last push

You stare coldly at the inanimate case that lies before you. It's already well beyond it's specified capacity, yet it taunts you to throw another shirt on the already heaped pile. Of course there are methodologies your family has subscribed to decades, foolproof techniques guaranteed to maximize luggage potential.
- Roll
- Scrunch
- Fold
- Vacuum pack (cheating)
So who out there has the award winning techniques on squeezing that extra cubic centimeter from their rucksack? Leave your tips in the comments and help me get home! (although I've already packed).

I always roll the crap out of my clothes!!! I mean not just a ho-hum, cookie-dough kind of roll. You gotta put some muscle behind it.
By the way, I think I said a general congrats over at Ning, but here's a personal, one... just for you! CONGRATS! :)

I have discovered the not-quite-vacuum-pack-but-great-because-you-can't-always-find-a-vacuum technique. INGREDIENTS You will need: 1x box of snap seal bags (miniature) 1x box of snap seal bags (medium) 1x box of snap seal bags (superhuge) METHOD
Great for finding the little items that often run around your bag too - nothing worse than finding the last pair of clean undies you were looking for when you get home and unpack...
IMPORTANT: If you use this technique for dirty clothes when traveling, keep the bags separate!
Also, wash clothes before you pack (they are lighter for some reason) and put a spare pair of undies in your hand luggage. Smart when (not if) the time comes when you are left all alone at the carousel and your baggage has gone on holiday without you.

It's all about the rolling and stacking! Roll them as tight as possible, sometimes I put elastics around the roll afterwards to keep it nice and tight.

Wear as many clothes as you can on the flight, without fainting! Tie a few around your waist and pile on the accessories!

Wear more layers as you travel. ;)
